Diligent kitty reports for duty at the train station daily, lending a paw during rush hour!

Meet Mishi: a train-obsessed cat who leaves his house daily to clock into work at the metro station next door.

Two years ago, Mishi’s family welcomed him into their home, just feet from the Villa Sierra metro station in Medellín, Colombia. Mishi loved his new family and settled into their house quickly — but the neighboring metro station piqued his interest.

For the first few days, Mishi could only admire the bustling metro station from afar. But curiosity eventually got the best of the adventurous cat, and he slipped away from his home one morning to finally explore the station. To his surprise, it was even better than he’d expected.

Mishi wandered through the metro, taking in the exciting sights and sounds, while workers ran to help him. The staff scooped him up, showered him with love and asked whom he belonged to. Once they discovered he lived next door, they carried him home — but the little guy refused to stay away.

“[T]he next day, I visited the Villa Sierra station again,” Medellín Metro wrote on X from Mishi’s perspective. “I just went for a while to greet them, make them smile, and that’s how the days began to pass.”

From then on, Mishi visited the metro station daily. He loved greeting commuters each day, but his favorite thing to do was shadowing the metro workers.

“I control access to the cable cars,” Medellín Metro wrote on X. “Sometimes, I support the operator, and I even check the turnstiles to make sure everything is in order …”

It’s hard to keep the metro system running efficiently, but Mishi is dedicated to the job and all it entails. And when things aren’t so hectic, the sweet boy knows just how to lay back and relax in his favorite place.

“[D]uring off-peak hours, I lay down on their cool floor,” Medellín Metro wrote on X. “They also pamper me and give me food … and I allow the users who call me cute and give me love to take pictures with me.”

After a midday nap and some fan-requested selfies, Mishi checks the cable cars one last time before returning to his permanent house next door. He gets some much-needed rest with his family each night, then wakes up the next morning to do it all again.

Mishi has since become the Villa Sierra station’s unofficial mascot and a mini-celebrity in the neighborhood. His presence brings all the commuters and metro workers who meet him instant joy. But at the end of the day, no one is more pleased than Mishi.

“I visit from time to time, and I return home happy,” Medellín Metro wrote.
